On behalf of the Trousdale County Board of Education, our employees, and more than 1,300 students, WELCOME to the Trousdale County Schools' website! Our district is comprised of three schools, including Trousdale County Elementary, Jim B. Satterfield Middle School, and Trousdale County High School, all of which have a rich tradition in providing a quality education for generations of students. We have a new Trousdale County High School beautifully located on Highway 25. Jim B. Satterfield Middle School and Trousdale County Elementary are presently going through a 2.5 million dollar heating and cooling renovation so that classrooms are thermostatically controlled for more effective teaching and learning. Trousdale County High School, with its 450 students, prides itself with one of the state’s highest graduation rates of 96.2% for 2010. The school had an A in Writing coupled with some of the highest Algebra, Biology, and English scores in the State for 2010. Trousdale County continues to raise its average ACT scores that are presently at 19.1 for the 2010 school year. Trousdale County High has just recently added Health Science, Physics, Dual Enrollment, and Virtual On-line courses to deliver Honors and Advance Placement opportunities for its students. Jim Satterfield Middle School, with its 310 students, boasts about its 2010 ACT EXPLORE scores, which has exceeded the national averages for the past two years in all reporting categories of English, Math, Reading, and Science in addition to having an A in Writing and some of the best math scores in the mid-state. Jim Satterfield Middle has just recently added Art, Music, Keyboarding, and Advanced PE for both boys and girls to enrich each student’s educational experience. The school is anxiously awaiting the completion of the heating-cooling renovation to be completed by the fall of 2012. Trousdale County Elementary School, a Title I school with its 570 students, proudly has an A in Writing along with student achievement scores that either meet or exceed State averages in Math, Reading, Social Studies, and Science. Trousdale County Elementary exceeded the state academic growth in Math, Social Studies, and Science. 100% of the school’s Title I funds are spent towards the development of early literacy skills for all students. The school has an outstanding Afterschool Program that enriches the educational experience of approximately 100 students in grades K-5 each afternoon. Our mission is to “Graduate and Accelerate ALL Students” so that all our graduates will be college and career ready upon graduation. We strive to create a learning environment that promotes the highest quality educational experience in the State. As we move towards academic excellence, it will be essential for our community to become more informed and involved at all levels of your child’s educational experience. I hope this website will provide answers to most of your questions as you strive to become more active in your child’s education. I hope you find the information helpful, but if cannot find the answer to your particular question, please feel free to contact your child’s school or our office or email any of our staff. Go Jackets, Clint A. Satterfield |
