On Wednesday night Jake Gregory of Trousdale County was awarded the 2019 Admiral William P. Lawrence Award at the 53rd Middle Tennessee Chapter National Football Foundation Annual Awards Banquet in Franklin, TN. Jake Gregory is the first student-athlete from Trousdale County High School to ever win this prestigious award, which signifies the top scholar-athlete of the mid-state.
Jake is a three time TSSAA all-state player and team captain. The Middle Tennessee Chapter also selected him as Trousdale County High School’s honoree which is chosen not only on a player’s contribution to the football team, but their outstanding academics and community involvement. Jake has a perfect 4.0 GPA, a very impressive ACT score, and was a team captain of the 2019 TCHS Football program that reached the state finals. All of the attributes came together to make him this years’ selection.
New head football coach Blake Satterfield commented on Jake Gregory’s award stating that, “Jake is fully deserving of this award, he is a perfect example of what hard work can do for not only an athlete but for a student as well. His work ethic in the classroom, weight room, and on the field will be missed greatly. I was fortunate enough to have him as a student and player (most recently as a defensive coordinator in 2019) and these characteristics in which he displays will lead to a successful career in whatever path he chooses. Good luck to Jake from not only myself but from my coaching staff and our community”.
