Trousdale County Schools are pleased to release its most recent 2019-20 Teachers of the Year. School-level Teachers of the Year are selected by their peers at each of the schools for which they serve. Teachers of the Year are eligible to advance to State Upper Cumberland CORE Region Teacher of the Year selection process in March. Two of this year's teachers, Amy Brown and Melissa Loerch are Special Education teachers while Penny Story is an English teacher at Trousdale County High and has been named Teacher of the Year for the third consecutive time. 


  • Trousdale County Elementary School - Amy Brown, MS. 10 years experience, 4 years with the Trousdale County School District.  
  • Jim Satterfield Middle School - Melissa Loerch, MA. 21 years experience, 19 with the Trousdale County School District
  • Trousdale County High School - Penny Story, BS. 9 years experience, all with the Trousdale County School District 


Trousdale County Schools congratulates all of its teachers and leaders for their outstanding work in increasing student learning for all the students of Trousdale County.
