POSITION:  School Bus Driver

QUALIFICATIONS: Age must be 21 years or older and hold a valid Tennessee CDL (Class A or B with passenger and student endorsement).  Driver shall have no record of a DUI conviction, must pass a Department of Transportation physical, must pass initial and random drug and alcohol tests, and must have an acceptable driving record as determined by the Trousdale County Board of Education and the Tennessee Department of Safety.  

 

DESCRIPTION:  Full-time drivers will transport students during the instructional school year.  Substitute drivers will drive for full-time drivers when absent and may drive for after-school and other school events.

POSITION:  LEAPS Afterschool Academy -Enrichment Teacher-Nutrition (Project Diabetes Grant)

 

DATE: August 22, 2019

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified teacher who is highly qualified; M.S. in Education preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Nutrition and willingness to share information with students.
  • Experience working with diverse students in an organized setting (school or child care)
  • Staff Physical (within last two years)/TB Clearance (if not on file with school system)
  • Background/Fingerprint Clearance (if not on file with school system)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and deliver nutrition lesson plans and activities to students in the afterschool program using the designated curriculum materials.
  • Provide instructional programs to parents / guardians four times per year.
  • Prepare supply requests as necessary for program instruction in a timely manner.
  • Provide general supervision of students in the afterschool program during assigned instruction time and transitions.
  • Facilitate activities and transitions.
  • Assist and support other afterschool staff as needed
  • Participate in and evaluate the effectiveness of activities and events.
  • Instruct students on the safe and proper use of supplies and equipment.
  • Implement discipline techniques and classroom management
  • Participate in cleaning and maintaining the facilities and equipment in assigned area.
  • Inspect the school site and the equipment for potential safety hazards; taking corrective action to prevent injuries.
  • Interact professionally and appropriately with parents, teachers and school staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings and on-going training opportunities
  • Comply with all State of Tennessee and Trousdale County Board of Education policies and procedures.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

  • Deliver homework assistance and individualized tutoring activities for up to 20 students.
  • Provide general supervision of students during the afterschool program homework and tutoring sessions and during transition time at the end of the assigned time.
  • Maintain records of performance/achievement for assigned students.
  • Assist and support afterschool Team Leaders and other staff as needed.
  • Participate in and evaluate the effectiveness of activities and projects.
  • Instruct students on the proper use of supplies.
  • Implement discipline techniques and classroom management.
  • Interact professionally and appropriately with parents, teachers and school staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings and on-going training opportunities, as needed. 
  • Complete at least 12 hours of approved professional development, as required by Department of Education guidelines.
  • Comply with all State of Tennessee and Trousdale County Board of Education policies and procedures.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

POSITION:  Serve as Physical Activity Leader for “Mornings in Motion” (Project Diabetes Grant program) 7:00-7:30 a.m. Monday-Friday, during bus duty when school is in session.

  • Certified Teacher with experience working with diverse students in an organized setting.
  • Ability to be energetic and make physical activity fun.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement and supervise various morning physical activity opportunities, including exercise, sport skill practice, games, dance, and other movement strategies.
  • Lead recreational activities; supervise children; enforce safety rules and guidelines.
  • Resolve conflicts among students.
  • Monitor activities within the gym / group.
  • Respond to program related concerns and issues; direct to higher level staff, as necessary.
  • Perform first aid as necessary.
