The internet is a wonderful tool for children.  They can use it to research school reports, communicate with teachers and friends, and play interactive games.  However, the internet also comes with risks: inappropriate content, cyberbullying and online predators just to name a few.

Parents should be aware of what their children see and do online.  Talk to them about the sites and apps they use and the sharing of personal information/photos/videos; discuss the dangers of interacting with strangers online; periodically check their profiles and posts; set a common area in the home for children to use electronic devices so you can monitor their online time; and keep an eye on their activities.
