2017-18 LEAPS (Lottery for Afterschool Program) Grant feedback requests

Trousdale County Schools hereby gives notice that they plan to apply for a LEAPS (Lottery for Afterschool Programs) Grant for the 2017-2018 School Year. The program will be conducted for Kindergarten through Fifth Graders at Trousdale County Elementary School. Anyone wanting to make comments about this grant should contact Kathy Atwood, LEAPS Program Director, at 615-374-0907 or at kathyatwood@tcschools.org.

Former Football Coaches Honored by NFF

The National Football Foundation jointly awarded the Roy Kramer Contribution to Football Award to Jim and Clint Satterfield. The award is presented to individuals who have been instrumental in promoting the game of football with the highest degree of leadership, integrity and participation. The Satterfields walked Trousdale County sidelines from 1955-2017, and both coach are inductees of the TSSAA Hall of Fame.

Trousdale County leads the state in completion of Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application

Completing the Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application and scoring high on the ACT is the formula for success beyond high school. Sandra Taylor, guidance counselor at Trousdale County High and assistant April Holder go the extra mile to ensure that all of our seniors are ready for college each year.

TTU Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) mobile comes to JSMS

The TTU STEM mobile provides state-of-the art integrated science and math experiences for middle school students. The STEM mobile is provided each year by the Upper Cumberland Rural STEM Initiative in collaboration with the TTU Millard Oakley STEM Center.

Students were recognized for improving the most on each benchmark.  Students take quarterly benchmarks in each of the 9 tested courses in the high school.

Power Wednesday

Trousdale County High School and Jim Satterfield Middle School will begin Power Wednesdays on August 10th.

New Student Expectations at School Sporting Events

Director of Schools, Clint Satterfield has implemented new school sporting events procedures for students in response to an outbreak of fighting at the football jamboree last week. Please read the parent memorandum that is being sent home to all parents this week in preparation for Friday's home game.

Trousdale Co Schools will cancel Parent-Teacher Conference for Thursday, March 30. All after school sports, activities, including After School Academy are also cancelled.

8th Grade Parent Night

8th Grade Parent Night is scheduled for Thursday, March 30th at 6 p.m. This is in reference to Pre-ACT scores and what to expect when making the move to the high school.

The JSMS baseball and softball games scheduled for today, March 17, have been postponed due to rain.

The JSMS Softball game scheduled for today against Southside has been cancelled due to weather.

High School Threat 3/2/17

At 9:25 today, a school threat was reported to the Principal at TCHS. Local police were immediately contacted, students were placed on lockdown, and an investigation into the threat was completed. Classes resumed at 11:30 when it was determined that the threat posed no danger.

Notice

PreK, Head Start, and SpEd PreK will be closed 2/16 and 2/17 for illness. All early learning programs will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 21. 

TCHS Basketball Game Notice:

The TCHS Basketball games scheduled against Macon County Friday has been cancelled; therefore, Senior Night has been moved to Thursday nights "Pink Out" game.

Today, we would like to congratulate Clint Satterfield, our Director of Schools, for receiving his Doctorate degree.

Nashville Youth Orchestra Program Audition Results Are In

Students from Trousdale County High Schools music program recently auditioned for the Nashville Youth Orchestra Program. Connor Belcher made the Curb Youth Symphony Orchestra. Also, Amy Hix and Caroline Guffey made the Nashville Philharmonia Orchestra, and Brenee Key made the Repertory Youth Orchestra.

Board Meeting Changed

The December Meeting of the Trousdale County Board of Education has been moved to Thursday, Dec. 29 at 6:00 pm. 

 

The December Work Session will be on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 6:00 pm.

Christmas Concert

The Trousdale County Band will be having their Christmas Concert tonight at the High School in the Eleanor Ford Theater at 7 pm. All are invited to attend. The band will also be in their new uniforms as well.

Trousdale County Schools will disseminate to parents individual student PowerSchool Parent Login information by students on Friday, Aug. 12. The one page letter provides parents with specific information about how to view your student's grades, attendance and tardy information. Please contact your school Assistant Principal if you have any questions after Friday.

TCES Hosts New Student Registration July 20

There will be a special registration for new students for the 2016-2017 school year at Trousdale County Elementary School on Wednesday, July 20 from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. This registration will include both kindergarten and older students who are new to the school. Applications will also be taken at that time for the Pre-K Program.
