Kyle Gregory Named Trousdale County Head Football Coach

Trousdale County Director of Schools, Dr. Clint Satterfield, announced that he has named Trousdale County Offensive Coordinator, Kyle Gregory, as the new Head Football Coach for the Yellow Jackets. Coach Gregory, a former standout player was a four-year starter for the Yellow Jackets from 2007 to 2010. During his playing time at Trousdale County High he was selected to the All-State team in 2010 and was two-time All-Region lineman in 2009 and 2010. Coach Gregory started as a freshman for Clint Satterfield in 2007 and the next three seasons for Kevin Creasy, winning back-to-back State Championships in 2008 and 2009.

Coach Gregory, a graduate of Tennessee Technology University began coaching with the Yellow Jackets as a volunteer assistant in 2013 before being hired as a teacher and coach in 2015 where he served as an assistant for three seasons. He was also an assistant for Westmoreland in 2018 and for Macon County in 2019 before returning back to Trousdale County in 2020. He was named interim head coach on May 15 following the resignation for former head coach Blake Satterfield who accepted the defensive coordinator position at Upperman High. “I have been impressed how quickly Coach Gregory and our football staff immediately assumed the duties of completing spring drills and organizing a summer strength and conditioning program without missing a day of work. This years’ team is going to be young and inexperienced; however, I am most confident that Coach Gregory and his staff will build our program the right way over time,” stated Director of Schools, Clint Satterfield.

“Kyle has been a Yellow Jacket his whole life, from being a young fan on Friday nights to a four-year letterman and as an assistant coach. He understands the expectations and the pride our community takes in football. I am excited about the opportunity Coach Gregory has to build our program back to its previous successes,” stated Principal, J Brim McCall.

“It is a great honor and privilege to be named Head Football Coach at Trousdale County High. I look forward to carrying on the great traditions of such a storied program and look forward to the new challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. I have gained a wealth of knowledge from being able to play and coach under some of the best football coaches in Tennessee. I am extremely excited to start my dream job,” stated Coach Gregory.

Coach Gregory assumes duties immediately. The team concludes its’ final week of strength and conditioning on Friday with the TSSAA dead period running from June 23 to July 6. The team will begin practice on Monday, July 8. The Jackets open the 2024 season at home vs. Livingston Academy on August 23.
